Setting Goals
Hello bloggers!!
We hope you are having a wonderful day/night/whatever time you are in. Anyways...this week's theme is "Setting Goals/New Years Resolutions". Slightly late, I know but here it is anyway.
But...before we begin with this post please check out our video about our New Year's resolutions if you haven't already:
Romane:
Heyyo Fellow blog readers!!
According to my calendar I'm supposed to write about "Setting Goals/New Years Resolutions"! So that is what I shall do.
A quick side note before I get into it--for those of you who aren't aware, I am doing daily blogging so make sure to check out my posts, although admittedly I am a few days behind but I'm doing my best to catch up! Okay now to this...
Setting goals can be a little daunting. At first it's exciting thinking of all the things you want to accomplish within a set time frame but then when you actually have to do all that stuff...it can be overwhelming. Nonetheless, we should always set goals for ourselves. And for the record--you do not by any means need to wait for a new year to make changes or make goals.
La Bigsis recommended I make weekly goals and daily "To-Do" lists and being abroad, I actually do it. It helps me make sure I get done what needs to get done and what I want to get done. If you read our Finals Week posts I mentioned how I write really simple things sometimes so I get to cross things off my list so for example I'll write "International Business Class" and cross it off once I've attended class. I never miss class but it's nice to be able to cross it off.
Also if you're making more of a life goals kind of list do NOT be afraid to dream big. Especially if they include your dream. Don't let someone talk you into thinking "realistically" when it comes to what you want to do. "Realistic" isn't worth it if you don't love it. Now if you're writing maybe a monthly goal's list, it doesn't hurt to be a little more reasonable but even then if you think you can do it--go for it! You can do anything you set your mind to.
Alright so I'm going to stop babbling on about different types of goals or lists you could write, and I'm going to write...some of my New Years Resolutions!
- Write--I think I've been doing a decent job at this, save for my late posts but still. I've been writing a lot this year and hopefully I keep it up! *fingers crossed*
- Eat better/Get Fit--okay I honestly haven't been that great at this so far...but the year has only just begun.
- Drink more water
- Stop Whining/Looking for "love"--people always say to stop looking and it'll come to you but darn it for so long I've waited! But you know what? I thought about this year and...so long I've waited, what's waiting a bit longer for that special someone? I need to devote myself to other more important things right now anyhow, and focus on myself.
- Get out of my comfort zone--say yes more! This is scary and I actually already starting doing this, and it makes me really happy! I mean I know what I can handle so when I really feel I should say no, I do, but I also when I should say yes now. And I do...mostly.
- Focus on music--as in focus on writing more music, learning new instruments, and improving what I know.
Anyways, until the next post,
Laytah!!

Geraldine:
Hey guys,
So I am a very goal oriented person. I like structure and schedule. I think in order to keep myself motivated, goals are a key part. I like to have long-term goals and then mini goals towards that.
For instance, when I was looking for an internship the main goal was to get an internship. Then in order to get to that my mini goals went from researching and applying to internship to calling/e-mailing back to those I applied to. It's all about baby steps, that way you will feel like you are making progress and in the end it'll all add up.
Onto my goals for this year:

Onto my goals for this year:
- Read more: My goal for this year is to read 25 books. I have read one and I'm almost done with two and three. I'm taking it bit by bit and reading things that I like and make me happy.
- Write more: Now I am currently writing one screenplay for a class, I will also be writing another one for another class. My mini goals for this though are to write something once a week. It could be an idea of a chapter or a scene, so long as I am writing it's cool.
- Graduate from college: I am now in my last semester and, although it absolutely terrifies me, I am also happy to be finishing something I have always wanted to do. My mini goals for this one are just to take it one day at a time, I have been having some anxiety about it so I just need to focus on the present rather than fear the future.
- Get a job: Since I am graduating, that means I need to get an actual job now. This scares me because I don't know where I want to go. Should I stay in New York? Move to LA? Go home? I haven't figured out an exact plan yet but I think that I will soon. For now, my mini goal is to make a plan and do my best at my internship.
- Get healthy: I read a quote that went something like "you are at your prime now, so look like it". I'm 21 years old. This is the height of my life physically. I need to stop being lazy and just look the way I want to look. For this, my mini goals are to drink more water, no soda, exercise at least three times a week, and try some challenges.
Well, those are pretty much all of my goals for this year. I just want to grow into a better me and survive this weird transition from young adult to actual adulthood.
I hope you guys are having a wonderful day! Speak to you guys soon!
-Geraldine
