Two Years Ago...(3/30/13)

By 3:10 PM

Heyyo fellow blog readers!

This post is very specific to today...Two years ago today I traveled to London for the first time. ✈️

I thought I was alone but I ended up sharing a flight with one my cheerleader's. She, her mom, and her cousin were on their way to visit her sister who was studying in London---which was a big relief for me. I was so nervous to be going on a flight all alone, it really relaxed me being able to hang out with them until the flight boarded. Everything was going great! ...until we landed and realized I have no idea where I was going.  They couldn't even help me since I literally had no clue where the hotel I was staying at was so I said a goodbye to familiar faces and did the only thing I could do...I waited.

And waited...and waited....and then I waited some more. I was so scared and lonely! The gum in my mouth had gone stale but I didn't want to move in case she came in that moment.

In fact you wanna know what I did? (Slash what I do when I travel alone, I kid you not) I attached myself to families in my vicinity so it looked like I was with them and not some lone loser. (Pathetic I know)

Two hours later though I felt a tap on my shoulder, I didn't even have time to process the stranger's tap before I was suffocated with the tightest and most longing grip I've ever felt. I don't know how long she hugged me. Felt long but not long enough. I imagine our hug looked something like Elsa and Anna's if I'm being honest❄️.

I could feel her tears and shallow breathing. When she finally calmed down she let go apologizing for the 'scene she was making'. But hell if I cared-- I was reunited with my sister! From there I met another friend who is basically a sister to me now too. (I'm talking about Jen by the way, she's Geraldine's current roommate). And we had a most memorable London trip!

And soon I shall be reunited with la Bigsis and le London and all will be right in the world OMG I CANT WAIT. Also ***spoiler alert*** I'll probably cry this time myself.

And I suggest coming back to this post later in time because I'll tell you about my return trip which featured less Bigsis tears and more Lilsis tears.

Okie doke lovely folks--until the next post!

Laytah!
