Dealing with Finals
Hey guys!
Sorry for being a little
late with this blog post but it’s finals week and it’s been crazy.

I hope you guys enjoyed
Romane’s post last week on finals. Here are my tips on dealing with finals.
1. Coffee. Coffee and more coffee (or tea if
you prefer)
·
This
is a staple, especially in college, to get through finals. I personally don’t
like energy drinks like red bull etc. so I stick to coffee and water.
·
Just
have something to keep you hydrated, and if it is a sugary drink or something
keep some water nearby as well to switch between the two.
·
It’s
important to keep hydrated and alert.
2. Snacks.
·
So I
know that a lot of people eat really unhealthy during finals because you just
don’t want to think about eating healthy.
·
That’s
why all I’m gonna tell you is to keep something yummy nearby. If it’s healthy
awesome , if it’s not then oh well.
·
I
have a trick when it comes to this: If I’m eating unhealthy then I drink water
and if I am drinking unhealthy then I try to eat healthy.
3. Sleep
·
I don’t
know what fool came up with the all nighter but they are stupid. Staying up all
night to study is not gonna do anything. Go sleep.
·
Now
if it’s a final project that’s due in 8 hours then push on through and finish
it but if you are studying for a test go sleep. You won’t absorb anything so
better to get some sleep.
·
You can
either study for a couple of hours then sleep or sleep early and then wake up
early to study. Pick one do not not sleep. I beg of you.
4. Organize.
·
Make
it a habit to organize your stuff to study before hand. I usually end up
spending a whole day just organizing my notes, making notecards and quizlets.
·
This
is also a way of procrastinating.
·
So
organize ahead of time so that when you do get closer to the day of the final
you have all your stuff ready to just pick up and study.
5. Do whatever works for you
·
There
are billions of ways to study. Do whatever works for you. Switch it up.
·
Some
people stand while they study or walk around the room.
·
I
like to listen to the same song or album per subject because then when I take
the test I just think of the song and remember what I studied.
·
Scents
also work but I don’t know how you would get the same scent into your classroom
but you could try.
·
Stretch!
Move, sing, read aloud. Just get through it.
6. Don’t overstudy.
·
Know
yourself enough to know when you need to stop.
·
One
way to study is to do so in increments. Start with ten minutes of studying and
ten minutes of break then do twenty minutes and a five minute break.
·
Just
make sure to stop of a bit if it’s not soaking in.
7. Do your best.
·
As
long as you do your best it will be fine. At the end of the day it’s just a
test and not the end of the world.
Well those are my tips for
dealing with this stressful time. I hope you guys enjoyed it!
Good luck to all of those
in finals! I know you guys will do amazing!
Bye bye!
